Leave-in-Place Joint Systems
In 1983, Permaban introduced the concrete screed rail into the flooring market which became recognised as the simplest and most economic Leave-in-Place joint systems for constructing concrete floor slabs and uniquely successful in the construction of ‘Superflat' floors. Several advances have been made in the design of these rails and Permaban lead the industry in joint system development.
PERMASTEEL
The Permasteel screed rail has advanced the Leave-in-Place concept for concrete screeds, ground bearing and suspended floor slabs, Metal Deck and Pre-Cast Plank. The design of the rail provides an enhanced load transfer capability over that of relying on ‘aggregate interlock’ alone and can eliminate the requirement for traditional dowel or tie bars.

BETAJOINT
BetaJoint is ideally suited for light to medium-duty internal or external floor slab applications. The BetaTop Joint (shown right) is manufactured from 2mm thick galvanised steel with two 12mm wide top strips to provide joint arris protection. BetaTop is a single 12mm wide strip and BetaStrip is a single 2mm wide strip for isolation joints and ‘Superflat’ floor long or wide strip construction.

AlphaJoint C
The AlphaJoint C is a heavy-duty Leave-in-Place floor joint system with 10mm wide joint arris armouring suitable for floor slabs of all depths:
AlphaJoint C is supplied with TD8 trapezoidal dowels for Ground Bearing slab depths up to 340mm and Suspended Slabs on piles up to 225mm.

Permaban Stud Strip
The Stud Strip has been developed by Permaban to provide an engineered solution to the historic use of rebar as a stiffening feature. Many customers who use AlphaJoint products install with Permaban's AlphaFix installation device, on all depths of slabs. However, some customers prefer to use the ‘pin and weld’ method and as a result require a greater degree of stiffness from the joint. AlphaSlide
AlphaSlide is specifically designed for wide joint openings above 15mm. When the concrete shrinks AlphaSlide opens on a sliding steel plate which supports the top plate and eliminates the open shrinkage gap in the concrete between the joint sections thus preventing the ingress of detritus. The support plate is manufactured with captive nuts along the 3m length to allow the later installation of the Permaban steel infill strips when shrinkage has taken place, thus eliminating any requirement for joint seala

STRIPJOINT
For use on the top of timber formwork, StripJoint provides the same joint arris protection and load transfer capabilities as our Leave-in-Place formwork systems. 2 x 10mm wide by 40mm deep steel strips provide the arris armouring and your choice of load transfer from the Permaban Dowel Systems range.
StripJoint is also supplied together with our Permaflex C Concrete Crack and Joint Repair Mortar for repairing failed joints.

DOWEL SYSTEMS
Some of the systems available from Permaban are: Plate dowels including Diamond Dowels DD6 in 6mm and DD10 in 10mm thick, GD8 in 8mm thick and AD10 in 10mm thick.
Plate dowels are a more efficient method of providing load transfer compared to round or square dowels.
Permasleeve square dowel bar systems incorporate the Permasleeve dowel sleeve which allows two-way horizontal movement.
Tri-Plate trapezoidal plate dowels are designed for sawn free contraction joints.

Joint Arris Repair System
To repair and armour spalled joint arrises on installed concrete slabs with either a resin or cementitious mortar of sufficient hardness to resist breakdown from the traffic passing over the joint.
