Permaban proved that sealing sawcuts doesn't have to be a pain in the back for sealant contractors at Prologis' new warehouse development in Stafford. Merseyseal Construction Limited laid over 20,000 linear metres of the new Permaban "PermaJoint" joint extension system, instead of the old fashioned, back breaking Permaban installation using a sealant gun. "PermaJoint" is a polymeric profile available in a variety of widths to suit most sawcut sizes. Rather than the laborious process of hand installation, the PermaJoint is supplied in reels of a few hundred metres, which are mounted on an installation trolley. Once the leading end of the PermaJoint has been set into the sawcut, installation is a simple matter of pushing the trolley - using the guide wheel to follow the line of the sawcut! PermaJoint does not relyon any chemical reaction, and so can be installed within minutes of the sawcut being made - it can even be installed through standing water!
