NEW Aquacure curing agent by Permaban
Permaban's Aquacure is a VOC compliant, quick drying water-based acrylic curing agent for spray application onto new power trowelled concrete floors. Aquacure imparts a pleasing sheen, reduces surface permeability, suppresses efflorescence and hardens concrete floors. Aquacure achieves the highest classification of curing efficiency and may be applied in one or two coats.
Permaban's Regional Sales Manager, Andrew Mackenzie, explains how Permaban are pleased to announce the launch of its new environmental friendly Aquacure curing agent for concrete floor slabs.
Aquacure is a 90% efficient spray applied acrylic curing membrane with 50% more acrylic resin content than resin based curing agents. The extra resin content and high efficiency combined with the fact that it is water based means that Aquacure enhances the strength, durability, non-dusting and permeability properties of the concrete floor surface. It has also been shown to reduce the incidence of surface crazing.
"Aquacure is an acrylic white liquid emulsion which dries to a clear film with a pleasing sheen. As the application of the curing agent for floors is usually carried out after the final power trowel operation, the white colour of the liquid helps the operatives to see more easily where they have sprayed to ensure all areas are treated" explains Mackenzie.
Aquacure is less viscous than resin-based acrylic curing agents and easily sprayed with fine nozzle heads or even as a mist spray.
Mackenzie explains how Aquacure is not hazardous to operatives nor the environment and can be transported and used in confined spaces without special precautions and is applied to improve the performance of existing concrete surfaces.
Aquacure was perfected by Permaban in 2007 and was used on more than twelve major sites (including warehouses, food storage, self-storage facilities, factories and extensions) during its introduction period in 2008 with up to nine months excellent performance in use.
In conclusion, Aquacure is tried and tested and readily available. In the UK, several major concrete floor slab contractors have now moved to Aquacure, using it as their standard curing agent for all floors.
