In 1986 Permaban's Dry Shake floor topping was installed in a B&Q for the first time. In 2001 B&Q embarked on a store opening programme of 175 new sites in 5 years, we are pleased to have been a large part of helping them achieve their target.

One of our recent projects for B&Q at Cribb's Causeway (nr. Bristol) is the largest DIY warehouse store in Europe with an internal floorspace of 120,000sqft. Permaban have now completed over 175 successful floor slab installations for B&Q alone because our product range is so reliable, one of the many reasons B&Q specify exclusively Permabans' AlphaJoint, Dry Shake Toppings, Permaseal Floor Curing and Joint Sealants.

The AlphaJoint Leave-in-Place joint system provides an unequalled degree of joint arris protection and is adjustable to level across the entire floorspace area. Specified by B&Q for use in their ‘warehouse' stores, the AlphaJoint includes Permaban dowel systems for the provision of load transfer across the floor slab joints - this allows the trafficking of vehicles across the slabs without damage occurring at the joints.

In addition to the outstanding performance delivered by the formwork used in the floor slab construction, B&Q stores have a finish on their floors provided by Permaban Dry Shake hardeners. These Dry Shake finished floors give an abrasion resistance which is second-to-none, this coupled with the benefits of their installation at the time of the floor slab being poured, makes them an obvious choice for specifiers such as B&Q.
