With the growing debate about the global affect of carbon emissions, many companies are concerned about their carbon footprint and how to reduce it. Permaban's goal has always been to reduce energy usage, material usage and wastage across the board. Permaban believe that by decreasing their carbon footprint through the reduction of their overall energy consumption it allows our customers to further their sustainability strategy to develop and construct with little or negative carbon emissions. The sustainability story is one of massive importance and only through the life cycle of reduce carbon emissions can large gains be made across the industry.

Permaban's philosophy is simple, to take common sense measures to reduce the overall energy and material consumption needed to manufacture products. In adopting this philosophy across the entire business, not only will it allow Permaban to ensure they deliver a smaller carbon footprint, but overall make the manufacturing process more cost effective, translating into value for money for our customers.

When analysed, it is surprising where you can find energy savings within the business given the availability of technology and best practices in the general market place today. These technologies and best practices offer the opportunity to reduce how you support the need within the business for a range of areas such as, heating, lighting, manufacturing and day-to-day support activities. These technologies and best practices even extend down to how you boil hot water!

Permaban have been addressing all of these issues over the past year and with the recent completion of the refurbishment to the offices and the continual improvements to the main manufacturing facility, many increased efficiencies have been made. This together with the new factory extension in the UK, which included careful design decisions to support reduced carbon emissions, have ensured Permaban are able to offer their customers a clear sustainability story to support their strategy to reduce the impact on the environment through the development of world-wide warehouse logistic centres.
