CLIENT PROFILE

Cargolux is one of the leading cargo airlines worldwide, operating scheduled and charter services on a network covering all continents. The company offers over 35 years experience and ranks in 10th position worldwide, measured in tonne-kilometers flown. At European level Cargolux is currently the largest all-cargo airline.

Cargolux is an integrated transportation company, operating exclusively for freight forwarders. They use a fleet of 16 B747-400F pure freighter aircraft and 20 trucking contractors to move valuable and time-sensitive commodities on their worldwide network, covering over 90 destinations.

The Cargolux fleet consists of 16 B747-400F freighters. One additional new B747-400F freighter has been ordered and will be delivered in 2008.

BUSINESS NEEDS

To install a floor capable of supporting the maintenance of Cargolux aircraft, the depth of the slab was designed at 400mm and had to support load transfer capabilities based on point loads due to the positioning of equipment necessary to jack the aircraft for maintenance purposes.

SOLUTION

Permaban supplied their heavy duty AlphaJoint 4010 product to support multiple slab depths.  The products supplied were:

• AlphaJoint 4010 AD10 375 which offered a 10mm dowel and 375 deep
• AlphaJoint 4010 AD10 225 which offered a 10mm dowel and 225 deep
• AlphaJoint 4010 GD8 120 which offered a 8mm dowel and 120 deep

 A variety of AlphaJoint 4010 T-sections were used to support the AlphaJoint 4010  joint system installation as well as the AlphaFix re-usable micro adjustable installation stand.
